Pleasant Word offers custom publishing packages that include all the high quality services required to get your book into print. Rather than include everything in the package price, we charge for some of these features separately.

Why does Pleasant Word not build the cost of these services into the packages?

Every book is unique and has individual requirements. By evaluating exactly what each project needs and charging for these services separately, we are able to uphold high standards of excellence and treat every one of our authors fairly. The bottom line is that Pleasant Word authors get what they pay for, and don't pay for what they don't need.

Do I have to pay for all these services?

No, most of them are entirely optional. Depending on which publishing package you choose, some - such as editing - are required in order to ensure quality. Others, such as publicity or Fast Track options, are not strictly necessary but may be recommended depending on your own plans and goals.

Are there "hidden fees"?

No, we don't hide anything. First, our website and Publishing Agreement make clear which standard items are charged separately. Second, we will always advise authors upfront whenever there may be an additional charge for extra work done, explain what it's for, and why we recommend it. For optional services, you will always have the choice to decline the work. This gives you the information you need in order to make informed decisions in the best interest of your book.
